Dance Show '12

UWCSEA Dover has been busy, busy, busy. Following Opus, International Evening and Rock Show, we just finished the Dance Show this week.
A mesmerizing hour filled with different numbers, this year's show was called 'Counterpoint'. It looked at the interaction between art and science with dances inspired by scientific concepts like the love hormone oxytocin, magnetism, momentum and so on.
Not only was the theme extremely creative but the style of dances too - contemporary, hip hop, ballet, burlesque (to mention a few).
I watched the show twice out of the three times it was on and was again amazed at the talent we have here at Dover, and how many boarders shone in the dances. Congratulations to Marlon Jimenez Oviedo, Carla Villegas Mina, Marylita Poma Pacheo, Karla Lorena Ruiz, Jero Miranda, Jeannyffer Campos, Tanya Mistry, Sebastian Fica Contreras and Josh Gy Kim for putting on a great show.
In addition to dancing, boarders also helped organize the dance show from backstage - well done Rachel Thomas and Bhavik Thakker!
A special mention to Josh Gy Kim who was in Opus, both nights of Rock Show AND was one of the best in the Dance show performing a contemporary duet.
